Clogs

The concept for clogs is simple and appealing: easy and chic basics with a fresh and modern look. Terhi Pölkki clogs are hand-made in a small family-owned factory in Sao Joao de Madeira, Portugal.

The leather that is used is vegetan leather and the wooden heel is made from sustainably harvested local alder. Vegetable tanned leather is a high quality and environmentally friendly material and will adjust nicely to the shape of foot. There are over 23 stages in making a pair of Terhi Pölkki clogs and each pair takes more than an hour to produce.

SUSTAINABILITY

Terhi Pölkki clogs are made from high quality vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is tanned using tannins and other ingredients found in vegetable matter such as tree bark, wood, leaves, fruit and roots.
It is non-irritant, soft to the touch, ages richly over time and therefore metal and chrome-free and biodegrades naturally.

Our vegetable tanned leather is classic leather that shows its wear beautifully over time. It is completely natural, meaning it is naked, with no synthetic top finishes. Natural colours will slowly darken over time due to exposure to the sun.

Each of our shoe is carefully handmade by our talented artisans who have worked with shoes for more than 15 years.

The basis for Terhi’s designs are timeless look and practicality. Timeless design provides the shoes a longer lifespan because they can be worn season after season.
